The building's rich colours, high ceilings and large arched windows overlooking York and George Street help give The Ark its amazing sense of light and spaciousness. Other features of the building include:
- The use of modern computer floors rather than traditional ceilings for services. This means the large curved windows are visible and the original timber beams exposed. On a functional level, this ensures that the latest technology can be seamlessly integrated without disturbing the building's unique style.
- Classically designed marble foyer and 2 Kone lifts, with security key access system for after hours entry.
- Twin dual-zone air-conditioning units serve each floor, and in combination with under-floor ducting ensure the ideal internal temperature.
- Light fittings designed by Louis Poulsen add to the classical ambience of each floor
